Product Scope

WitNote 智简笔记 is provided as 本地优先的 Markdown 工作台；隐私任务留在 Mac，复杂任务可连接你自己的云端模型。

The product page, Apple App Store listing, privacy policy, terms, support contact, and public source and notice repository define the current public product scope. WitNote is a local-first macOS application; the website does not create a separate user account or hosted writing workspace.

Use of the Product

WitNote is a local Markdown writing, knowledge, reading, conversion, and AI-assistance workspace. You are responsible for the files and content you import, the rights to that content, the prompts you submit, and how you use generated or converted output. Local and cloud AI output can be incomplete or inaccurate and must be reviewed before publication, submission, or another consequential use. Do not use the product in ways that violate applicable law, platform rules, model licenses, provider terms, or third-party rights.

User Content and Local Data

用户选择的文件夹、Markdown 文稿和导出结果默认保留在本地；本地 MLX 与本机 Ollama 不默认上传文稿。只有用户配置自己的云端 API 并主动发送提示词，或为该接口开启“允许发送已附加的文稿内容”后，相关文本才会直接发送到该用户指定的服务。

WitNote stores the selected workspace, Markdown files, imports, exports, settings, and local model files on the Mac. You are responsible for macOS file permissions, device security, backups, and any model files you download from external sources. Removing the app or its local data may remove data that has not been backed up.

Downloads, Purchases, and Updates

WitNote is distributed through Apple App Store. The optional Lifetime purchase is a non-consumable in-app purchase handled by Apple StoreKit; WitNote does not offer an auto-renewable subscription. Refunds, billing issues, and account-level purchase records are handled by Apple.

The local Markdown workspace and basic local model experience are available according to the current app build. The optional non-consumable Lifetime purchase unlocks format-conversion features through Apple StoreKit. WitNote does not offer an auto-renewable subscription. Restore Purchases uses Apple's StoreKit flow; refunds, billing issues, and purchase records are handled by Apple under App Store rules.

Third-Party Services

WitNote may use Apple App Store and StoreKit, the MLX runtime, Qwen model files, a user-run local Ollama service, and cloud API endpoints selected by the user. Each third-party service, runtime, model, downloaded asset, or API remains subject to its own license, terms, and privacy policy.

WitNote includes or may download MLX-compatible model files, including Qwen3 variants. It can also connect to a local Ollama service and an OpenAI-compatible cloud endpoint chosen by the user. WitNote does not provide, relay, or control those cloud services. The user is responsible for each selected model or API, its cost, output, availability, content policy, privacy policy, and retention practices. The app package exposes third-party notices and bundled model license files. MLX, Qwen, and each downloaded model remain subject to their own licenses, model-use restrictions, and attribution requirements.
